The Weight Sense Method was created by Dr. Nikita Shah, a medical doctor and physician expert in weight loss medicine. Dr. Shah is an AOA board certified in Family Medicine and a diplomate to the American Board of Obesity Medicine.  She is also a certified weight loss coach through The Life Coach School.

The goal while working with:

You may be considering weight loss medications or anti-obesity medicines but you are unsure if you qualify.

BMI is a factor but it’s not the whole story and there are other things to consider.

Typically, a BMI of 30 or higher is considered the benchmark for using anti-obesity medications.

Whereas a BMI of greater than 27 with medical conditions would be a benchmark for using anti-obesity medications.

However, the final determination should be made by a healthcare professional after a thorough evaluation. Also there are ethnic variations as well.

Dr. Shah will be to help you reach your best weight. This is the weight where you feel good in your body and a weight where you can enjoy your life and lifestyle in a manner that feels right to you. Your best weight is not reaching a “normal BMI”. It s reaching a weight that makes sense to you— where your health, well-being and personal lifestyle are optimized. Where the risk of chronic disease are reduced and medical conditions are controlled.  Your best weight is reached when you’re feeling vibrant in your body and are enjoying the lifestyle that you’re living.
